In her residency Dr. Lisa gained extensive knowledge in general dentistry and also learned how to place dental implants and perform IV sedations.

Dr. Lisa is a member of the American Dental Association, Texas Dental Association, and the local dental associations. Dr. Lisa loves to learn new things, so she frequently enrolls in continuing education classes because she knows it will benefit her patients. She has recently traveled to Tacoma Washington to the Bioclear Learning center, which involved 4 strenuous days of lecture and hands on training on how composite resin can enhance a patients smile. She is a Bioclear and Laser certified Dentist. She also has extensive training in esthetic composite veneers. Dr. Lisa loves cosmetic dentistry be it with composite, crowns or veneers. She has said that she would do esthetic dentistry all day everyday if she could, because it is life changing to see a patient really smile.

Lisa Laird was born in Temple Texas and was raised in the big city of Jonesboro Texas. She moved from her family ranch of 300 acres in search of a new opportunity to do what she loves. Being from a small town she has learned the value of community and friendship. She truly believes in helping others and treating people how she would want to be treated.

Lisa Laird married her high school sweet heart Joey Martin in July of 2008. Joey owns Live Simple a concierge business where he takes care of his client’s homes in Horseshoe Bay when they are away. The Martin’s lives changed forever in early 2011 when they were blessed with their twin daughters, Addie Kay and Emma Lynn. Dr. Lisa loves watching her girls play sports and they do all of them. They attend Marble Falls Middle School where they are straight A students and participate in volleyball, cross country, cheerleading, basketball, softball, tennis, and track. So needless to say, she is pretty busy at her house right now. She enjoys traveling when she can and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Lisa will do everything she can to provide you with quality dental care in a warm and friendly environment. She is very thorough, does not like to be rushed and takes her time with all patients, which also means she can run behind at times. She tries to makes sure everyone is as comfortable as possible, she even sings and hums to Country music while she is working on your teeth. But she has never claimed to be a professional singer not even at karaoke. She looks forward to meeting you and helping you maintain good oral health.

Debra Fowlkes, Hygienist

Debra is originally from the Great Lakes state of Michigan. At the age of 20, she made a life-changing decision to move to Houston, Texas. She put everything she owned in her Honda Prelude and off she went. Even though her parents weren’t 100% on board with the idea, they didn’t hold her back from her new venture.

Her first job in Texas was for a Plastic Surgery Group, Cronin Brower & Biggs. After working there for a year her neighbor helped her get a job at Gulf Oil, where she met her husband. When Gulf Oil was acquired by Chevron/Texaco, she went to work for the Super Computer Company, Cray Research.

In 1986 she married her husband Randy, a Texas native, and became an instant mom to her two stepchildren, Jamey and Ivy.

After relocating several times for her husband Randy’s job opportunities; Colorado and Missouri, in 1991 they were finally back in Dallas, Texas. It was at that time she decided it was time for a career change. Her husband encouraged her to go to college and afforded her this opportunity, she embraced it full speed ahead.

Debra was a “non-traditional” college student. She started her journey at the age of 30. Debra graduated Magna Cum Laude from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas in 1995 with her (BSDH) Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene. She was awarded the Honorary Sigma Phi Alpha Dental Hygiene Honor Society Award. After graduation, Debra practiced in Keller, Texas before moving to the Highland Lakes area in August of 1999. Debra has practiced in Horseshoe Bay, Texas for 24 years.

Debra continues to learn new modalities to improve and achieve optimal oral health with yearly continuing education classes. In 2018 she became Laser Certified. Debra is passionate about dental hygiene and takes pride in providing our patients with the highest standard of care. She enjoys educating patients on attaining and maintaining their optimal oral health. Our patients often kid her for being a “perfectionist”.

In her spare time, you can find her and Randy entertaining at their second home on the Frio River. She enjoys relaxing in the river with family and friends, and especially, with her grandchildren ranging in ages from 21 to 3 years old. They are the love of her life and they affectionately refer to her as Nana and Randy as Papaw.
